Sydney Long, Australian Artist

Exhibiting from November through December is the paintings of Sydney Long. He is an early 1900 century Australian artist whose prolific works poetically portrays the landscapes of Australia  as well as reflect the Art Nouveau style of the time period. Art Nouveau is a style of art that is inspired by the curves of flowers and plants, natural forms but expressed in curved lines. It is a philosophy of a lifestyle that encompassed in all areas of art - architecture, furniture design, landscapes.... What caught my eye when I was scrolling through Pinterest is his landscapes. Whether in oils or watercolor, Sydney Long captured the spirit of Australia. Whether it's the mountains faraway or the buildings in a city or the seashore, he does not simply paints what he sees but what he feels.
